Four in five disabled people want to be more active but demand is not being met. Only two in five feel they are given the opportunity to be as active as they would like to be. Worryingly, this level of inequality is resulting in a more negative experience, including social isolation for many disabled people. The findings come from a ground-breaking report released by Activity Alliance today, involving more than 2000 respondents.

The Manderson Trust for the disabled, to be found on Overcote in Over, is a registered charity run by volunteers and maintained by contributions from friends of the trust and other charitable organizations. It is 30 years old this year!
In the early 1980s Dennis Manderson had a dream to provide facilities for disabled anglers. He himself loved fishing and, being disabled, found it difficult to access suitable places to fish. In 1986 it became possible to buy the lakes at Over and in 1990 The Manderson Trust for the Disabled was registered as a charity and work began to make Dennis’ dream come true.
