In April 2016, Living Sport launched a new monthly volunteer award scheme so that more volunteers get recognition for great contribution they are making to enable community sport to happen in the county. Now into its second year, we want to keep celebrating those incredible volunteers. So if you know of any volunteers in your sports club or community doing a great job, get nominating!
The award of a certificate and public recognition for their volunteering efforts will happen each month throughout 2017.
Nominations open on the 1st of every month and end on the last day of the month, with the announcement of the winner shortly after.
- - The individual has given up time to volunteer in local sport in any capacity.
- - The individual has made an impact to a local club, community, organisation, or school.
- - The individual has shown a commitment to personal development, teamwork and supporting the development of others.
- The individual has made a difference within the last couple of months in his or her club.

The monthly award scheme is part of a wider volunteering project – Volunteers: Important People or V:IP, where Living Sport are promoting a number of ideas to support, develop and recognise sports volunteers in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Living Sport understand that community sport would not happen without the committed volunteers that give up their time week in week out to deliver sports opportunities in their communities.
