About the club

The club is pleased to offer full membership to athletes of any ability from 10 years old upwards. We have active members of all ages from 10 to 80+. For athletes under 10 we have a number of community clubs to choose from. We take part in all the athletic disciplines involved in track and field, cross-country running and road running. The only thing we ask is that athletes try hard and do the best they can.

We are keen to put teams into local and national competitions so we encourage everyone to take part. It isn’t necessary to be national standard to compete - great if you are! Teams are made up of people who want to have a go.

Our mission is to promote athletics in Cambridge, South Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. We have an equal opportunities policy and try to make it possible for all who are interested to have a go. We try to promote community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities for athletics. This includes:

  • Free coaching and advice
  • Free entry to league matches in track and field, cross-country and road running
  • Free entry into regional and national competitions
  • Reduced entry fees for road running events
  • Excellent, free training facilities at the University track
  • Free indoor training in winter at Chesterton Sports Centre
  • 10% discount on kit at most Cambridge sports shops
  • A regular newsletter
  • Maybe most of all, club members to train with, compete with and enjoy each other's company

We aim to offer coaching in all the major disciplines but the club is run by volunteers and not all events are available all the time. If you are interested in a particular event, we can usually put you in touch with someone or let you know about regional coaching clinics .

Accreditations

  • Club Mark

Clubmark accreditation introduced by Sport England is awarded to clubs that comply with minimum operating standards.
