LIVING SPORT to take part in Gym Challenge for Sport Relief
The team at LIVING SPORT will be raising money for Sport Relief by walking, running, cycling and rowing 62.4 miles in just one day on Tuesday 23rd March 2010.
The challenge will be for the 13-strong team to complete the distance calculated from the most northern village in Cambridgeshire, Tydd St Giles, to Little Chishill, the county’s most southern village, at the Lakeside Lodge Health Club in Pidley.
Participants will have a one hour slot to complete their 4.8 miles. The team includes local badminton, dance, hockey, netball, table tennis coaches and players, and England Premier League Hockey player Ross Hayward.
Ryan Cullum, LIVING SPORT’s Sports Projects Officer and Challenge Organiser, commented, “this is an exciting and different challenge for the team to show their support for Sport Relief. I proposed a gym challenge to fit around the working day, while relating to the county and ensuring everyone can get involved by walking, running, cycling or rowing.
The money raised by the team will be helping to improve the lives of those across the country and encourage more people to get involved in sport and physical activity.”
Cambridgeshire is the host of six Sport Relief Mile events in Cambridge, Ely, Great Chishill, Hemingford Grey, Huntingdon and Peterborough on Sunday 21st March. Each event is offering one, three or six mile runs, with entry fees at £5 for Adults (16+), £2 for Children and £12 for Families to cover the cost of staging the race.
