Winter 10 Mile – Sunday 17th November 2019 – CANCELLED DUE TO FLOODING!
We regret to inform you that that our Peterborough Winter 10 Miler has been cancelled. Nene Park have confirmed that with the rising water levels and forecast of further rain towards the end of the week this will affect our route and the surrounding areas are beginning to flood. We have tried to find an alternative 10 mile route and even looked into shorter distances, however the park have stated that it is simply not possible or safe to run. We really hope you can appreciate that these circumstances are completely out of our control and that we have tried our hardest to avoid cancellation. We are devastated that our Peterborough Winter 10 Miler cannot take place this year as it proved extremely popular in 2018 and was the big finale of our first ever 4 Seasons series this year.
Just so you are aware, your place has automatically been transferred to the Peterborough Winter 10 Mile 2020 event on Sunday 15th November 2020 at 10am. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our 2020, 4 Seasons series and to get your finishers t-shirt and bespoke medal. All the details can be found here: https://racebest.com/races/3heg5
If you cannot join us for our Peterborough Winter 10 Miler next year then please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org, before the 2nd December and we can arrange a refund for this weekend’s event. Thank you for your understanding and patience over the last few days. We apologise for any disappointment this may have caused as we were looking forward to welcoming you all on Sunday!
This series is a new addition to Living Sport’s event programme. Each of the 4 races will take place around Nene Park, Peterborough, PE2 5UU. Every course has been designed to encompass every inch of the parks breath taking lakes, woodland and meadows during each season.
Along with the most beautiful scenery, runners will benefit from:
- Chip Timing
- Runners T-shirt
- Finisher Medal
- Photos to download
What better way to spend a Sunday morning than by taking part in our 4 Seasons series! Supported by great marshals and a lovely venue for spectators too. All runs apart from the Spring 10K, which starts at the Rowing lake (Thorpe Meadows) will start at Ferry Meadows close to the Lakeside Centre.
Whether you are a regular Parkrunner, or a runner from one of the many great clubs around the city looking to step up in distance, or even someone simply looking for a challenge – this new series at the picturesque Nene Park are the runs for you!
Our Partnership with Head to Toe Charity
We are delighted to announce our growing partnership with ‘Head to Toe’ for this series. ‘Head to Toe’ is the charity for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT). They help their amazing NHS staff to provide even better care and treatment by enhancing the services that CPFT provides, supporting people of all ages receiving mental health, community and social care across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. So if a runner is raising money for charity can we encourage them to possibly run for ‘Head to Toe’.
After our donation to Head To Toe, the proceeds from the race go towards the work Living Sport do to improve the health and well being of people in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire through participation in sport and physical activity.
