“Support Cambridgeshire is proud to sponsor The Community Volunteer of the Year Award at the forthcoming Living Sport Awards Ceremony in 2017. It is vital that people, who often do great things in their local area, receive some small recognition for helping to build and develop communities. Without such people, communities would be less connected and less cohesive. Let’s hope that 2017/18 brings more volunteers doing great things for local people and local areas across Cambridgeshire.”

‘As a firm, Rawlinsons is committed to making a positive contribution to the local community. We are delighted to sponsor the Living Sport Sports Awards to recognise and celebrate the sporting successes achieved within our region.’
WORKPLACE OF THE YEAR – Anglian Water
A secure supply of water underpins everything in our region, driving growth and vitality in our neighbourhoods and making this a fantastic place to live, work and play. It’s no wonder long term access to secure water supplies and reliable, effective water recycling systems are two of the most pressing global environmental and economic challenges.
Facing a future that promises more neighbours but fewer raindrops, our response has been to launch Love Every Drop – a campaign to put water at the heart of a new way of living.
Love Every Drop goes far beyond the supply of clean water, and its treatment before we return it to the environment. We’re embedding ourselves in the communities we serve, working with customers, business leaders, young and old to raise awareness about how essential water it to life, people, the environment and the economy. Together we can make all the difference – and you can take part at a tap near you.
Why are we supporting the Living Sport Awards?
“We’re proud to support the Living Sport Awards as they’re a great opportunity for us to show people how water powers communities. Just think of your cup of tea this morning, or the clean socks you pulled on before breakfast. That wouldn’t have happened without water. Anyone with exercise on their mind will be the first to confess their achievements would not be possible without water.
“We’ve specifically chosen to support the Workplace of the Year Award because we recognise the role healthy staff play in a successful businesses. At Anglian Water, we place a huge emphasis on wellbeing, both mental and physical. We’re delighted to recognise the success of others who are similarly ambitious in the hope that this inspires even more business to strive for similar success.”

PRIMARY SCHOOL OF THE YEAR – Everyone Health
Everyone Health works in partnership with the County Council to deliver a whole host of free lifestyle services to Cambridgeshire residents with the aim of improving their long-term health and wellbeing.
From weight management services for adults, children and their families, to NHS health checks for the over 40s, to falls prevention advice for older people and stop smoking services, the Everyone Health team is helping local people feel better both physically and mentally and giving them the tools to stay that way. The services incorporate expert help and guidance from qualified nutritionists, physical activity specialists and health trainers on a one-to-one basis or in a group setting. And although the weight management programmes for example run for 12 weeks, the support doesn’t end there with health coaches remaining in contact for up to a year.
Feedback has been amazing so far with Monica commenting:
“After my fall, I did not think I could do anything… Ryan [Everyone Health] began to talk to me about exercise and how this could help in preventing falls, and may increase my confidence in day to day life.
“I was nervous about attending my first session… I didn’t need to be nervous though as when I arrived the instructor was very supportive, and the group was very social.
“If it had not been for meeting Ryan, then I would never have begun this journey. The support and motivation he has given me has really helped me make positive changes in my lifestyle and guide me with healthy ageing.”
