Happidojo Judo Club and Total Sports Plus Rugby have joined forces to deliver exciting new sports camps for Cambridgeshire youngsters in 2010.
A dynamic combination of sporting activities is planned for every school break throughout the year thanks to teamwork between two of the area’s most successful sports camp providers.
The fun and actively educational camps will be led by Dave Southby, former Commonwealth Judo Gold Medallist and founder of Happidojo, in partnership with Tom Dann, Shelford Rugby Club 1st XV Player/Coach of Total Sports Plus.
There’s something for everyone under the guidance of friendly, first-class coaches who will provide a packed programme of outdoor and indoor sporting activities. The camps will also include the latest initiatives from SAQ Training, a programme of progressive exercise and instruction aimed at developing fundamental motor abilities, balance, co-ordination and body movement control.
Judo skills are used to develop specific rugby techniques by improving physical contact ability and spatial awareness, including;
- Turning opponent over
- Improving take-down techniques
- Greater agility and mobility
- Understanding mauling tactics
- Superior flexibility and balance
- Boosting self-confidence
- Developing upper body strength
Great fun for complete novices and competitive players, the camps take place at Shelford Rugby Club from 9.15am to 3.30pm and cost £25 per day, per course. The dates is the 16th/17th Feb 2010.
