Whilst you can look far and wide for help with sport funding but there are a variety of local funds in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough which are well worth exploring!
South Cambridgeshire District Council
South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) offers grants to voluntary and community groups, charities and Parish Councils of up to £1000 under their Community Chest scheme – https://www.scambs.gov.uk/communitychest
But whilst grant applications are accepted at any time each year (starting 1st April) grants are made on a first come first served basis

Cambridge City Council
Cambridge City Council Community Grants are available to reduce social and economic inequality including to access sporting activities. Full information is available here https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/community-grants with a deadline for applications the start of October. There is also an opportunity through Area Committee funding for activity, again targeted for the same purpose, within one of the four areas of the city. This funding has an early 2018 deadline. The Council has in the past also offered the opportunity for community groups to benefit from S106 grants for improved facilities and beneficiaries have included Cambridge Gymnastics Academy, and Camrowers and Cambridgeshire Rowing Association. Section 106 grants come from contributions paid by developers in order to mitigate the impact of new homes and other buildings has on demands on local facilities. East Cambridgeshire District Council
East Cambridgeshire offers a number of community grants – Community Grants of up to £1000 for services and Facilities Improvement Grants and Community Facilities Section 106 Funding. Full details on each of these are available here https://www.eastcambs.gov.uk/finance/grants

Huntingdonshire District Council

Fenland District Council
There are limited opportunities in Fenland but information about what is available is included here http://www.fenland.gov.uk/grants. However there is Healthy Fenland Fund offering grants of £250 to £5000 for projects which seek to improve the health and wellbeing of Fenland residents. This fund is managed by the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation with the Care Network Cambridgeshire providing support to help organisations become ‘grant ready’. Cambridgeshire Community Foundation
Cambridgeshire Community Foundation (CCF) has been mentioned a few times.
CCF manages funds donated by individuals and organisations and has an impressive list of available funds (A-Z) to support community projects. There are a range of different criteria for these different funds, some of which are geographically specific – but many of which are available to organisations looking at developing sport and physical activity participation. http://www.cambscf.org.uk/funds-a-z.html
Peterborough City Council
Peterborough City Council have a scheme operated through their Councillors, called the Community Leadership Fund. Each Councillor has been allocated £1000 to spend each financial year on neighbourhood projects – albeit capital projects https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/council/councillors/community-leadership-fund/
