There are a number of routes into coaching and there is plenty of support in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough for you to become a qualified coach. Who can help me in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough? Well…..The best thing to do if you are interested in becoming a coach is to contact someone at LIVING SPORT for more information. Helen Clarke, our Coaching Development Project Coordinator, is currently working closely with National Governing Bodies of Sport and Sports Coach UK and she will be able to tell you how to get started.
If you currently coach at a club or school and are looking for opportunities to take qualifications in Coaching in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, such as UKCC Level 1, we provide funding through East Links.
In addition to your qualification, if you are coaching children you will need to have an up to date Safeguarding and Protecting Children Qualification and all coaches are recommended to have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
See our Coach, Official and Administrator Development Programme for information about local courses.
There are four main pathways within coaching and you may fall into one or more. Children’s Coaching, Participation Coaching, Performance Development Coaching and High Performance Coaching. Whether you are a novice coach in all pathways, or an expert coach in one area, there are still development opportunities that you can access.
