Who can support you

It is very important as a coach to have support. Coaching support is a very broad term and covers anything from mentoring opportunities, financial support or advice on welfare issues.

If you coach within a club environment, you should have an established committee that can cover a number of support issues. If your club is not Clubmarked, this is a good place to start. Click here to see clubmark clubs in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

There is significant work going on behind the scenes with relation to coaching in the UK. With the Olympics coming up in 2012 there is a real emphasis on making UK coaches the best in the world. There is no better time to get into coaching or develop your coaching skills.

We recommend that coaches should be linked to, or become members of their National Governing Body as National Strategy information will be cascaded down to coaches on the ground. Keeping in touch with LIVING SPORT is also important in order to keep up to date with progression and changes more locally.
