Young people

As a young person involved in sport you may have helped to run a team, umpired a game or even run a skills session at school or club. There are many opportunities for young people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in various sports to take your interests further and become a qualified coach or umpire.

Your school or college may offer courses for 14-19 yrs in the more popular sports, which will give a basic introduction to coaching, umpiring and organising. See Step into Sport.

However, each sport whether it is football, netball or athletics has a National Governing Body (download here) which offers their own courses to progress you through the levels and grades (depending on your age) for both coaches and officials.
