Boccia
Boccia originates form a ball tossing game played by the ancient Greeks. It is a sport that requires muscular control, precision and concentration. The game is unique to the Paralympics Games as it can only be played by wheelchair athletes with severe cerebral palsy and related neurological disorders. The aim of the game is for athletes to throw leather balls as close as possible to a smaller white ball; a ‘jack’.
