Goalball
Goalball was originally developed to rehabilitate blind war veterans but was introduced to the world at the 1976 Paralympics in Toronto, with the first World Championships held in Austria in 1978.
Rules of the Game were formalised by the International Blind Sports Association in 1981, and goalball is now played across the world.
A three-a-side game, using a ball with a bell inside, fully-sighted players can join in by using eyeshades. Played on an indoor court, with tactile markings.
