Cambridge born Winter Olympic Gold Medalist Amy Williams and Huntingdon Gymnastics Club Olympic bronze medalist Louis Smith are joining other elite sport stars such as Christian Malcolm, Barry McGuigan, Dean Macey and Sinead Kerr to encourage a selection of the UK’s finest young athletes to taste sporting glory in CBBC’s new sports series Ultimate Sports Day.
They are also joined by Kelly Sotherton, Phillips Idowu and World Junior Champion Harry Aikines-Aryeetey to put the teenagers through their paces and help foster the nation’s future medallists.
The show has a run of 11 episodes and is to air on CBBC from Saturday 28th Jan at 09:00.
Transmitting in the run-up to London 2012, the 11x30min series is filmed at Scotland’s Ravenscraig sports centre, and sees four teams of four young athletes from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland run, jump, shoot and ride their way to become the Ultimate Sports Day champions.
