Matt and Christian lap it up

Matt Leadbitter and Christian Roberts were dominant in the one-lap events at the Peterborough City Games.

Leadbitter led the way for the Huntingdon AC duo in the senior 400m, winning in a time of 51.10sec, while Roberts took the junior event in 50.74sec, and he was also among a squad of five athletes from the club who competed in the annual Hibbard Trophy at Ipswich.

Roberts was second in the A 400m hurdles in 56.27sec and Dave Leadbitter went within 0.01sec of his personal best as he clocked 23.06sec for second in the B 200m.

Liz Edwards went straight to the top of the club rankings in her first hammer competition of the year as she finished third with a throw of 38.83m.

Jonathan Edwards was second in the B hammer (47.60m) and the A shot-put (12.74m) and fourth in the A discus (38.14m), while Paul Hayball was in action in the long jump, discus, javelin and shot putt.
