Triple Winner Edwards puts in super show
Three convincing victories helped Jonathan Edwards win the athlete-of-the-match award for Huntingdon AC in the Eastern Young Athletes League at Stevenage.
In the under-17 men's category, Edwards added 21cm to his personal best with a throw of 13.09m to win the shot-put by two-and-a-half metres, clinched victory by 11m in the discus with 41.05m and savoured success in the hammer by nine metres, with 47.90m.Anya Rodriquez set personal bests in the under-13 girls' high jump, winning with a clearance of 1.40m, and was successful in the long jump with 4.29m, which improved her previous best by 23cm.
Ailish Park threw the javelin out to 25.93m to win the under-15 girls' javelin, while in the under-17 women's section there were wins for Lucy Readman (B 200m) and Helen West, who won the A 1,500m by 96 seconds.
