Nearly 600 youngsters with disabilities and additional needs enjoyed the sunshine and carnival atmosphere at the fourth annual Youth Games PLUS in June at the St Ivo Sports Complex. LIVING SPORT organised the Games on behalf of the Disability Sports Forum. Sixty teams from 16 schools across the county competed in Boccia, Cricket, Netball and Tag Rugby and 75 young people battled for points in four athletics disciplines to find overall winners. Over 100 young people had great fun trying out Archery, Climbing, Badminton, Mini Tennis, Golf, New Age Kurling, Sensory games and Table Cricket in the ‘Taster Village’.
We are grateful to our sponsors Cambridge Building Society, Heart FM, John Lewis Cambridge and Highland Spring Water whose support enabled the event to happen and the help of 160 volunteers ensured the day ran successfully.
