Huntingdon's Giles Scott is gunning for sailing supremo Ben Ainslie - and insists he can upset the odds to reach the London Olympics in 2012. The 22 year old underlined his growing potential by taking the Finn World Junior title in Melbourne, Australia last year.
And Scott - who is on the Great Britain Performance Squad - capped off another impressive campaign this year by finishing sixth at the Skandia Sail for Gold regatta in Weymouth last week, the venue for the 2012 Olympic races.
Triple-Olympic gold medallist Ainslie remains Team GB's No 1 choice in the Finn boat for London, but Scott refuses to rule out a challenge in two years.
After his impressive display on at the National Sailing Academy, Scott will return to the water sooner rather than later as he finalises his plans for 2010 as he aims to be consistently in the top three for major events.
