A six-person strong team of LIVING SPORT staff recorded a time of 01:23:08 at the Chariots of Fire race in Cambridge on Sunday 21st September 2009, finishing a respectable 279th.
The team consisting of Amanda Callard, Claire Thorby, Ejaz Moghul, Helen Clarke, Lee Dolby and CEO Simon Fairhall set an organisation's best time in the annual event across the scenic course in aid of local charity Cam-mind.
The event attracted 2,500 competitors who were aiming to build on the £750,000 raised since it was first held in 1992.
Glassworks A, a team from a Cambridge gym, took first spot for the third year in a row and claimed the Sir Arthur Marshall trophy. The Red Balloon Charity Cup for the team that put in most effort went to Granta Housing, while the People’s Cup for the most entertaining team went to John Lewis.
Despite the warm weather, the John Lewis team dressed up as waiters and carried around the course a tray with a glass of red wine on it.
