High diver Seb Jaunzens somersaulted his way to the gold medal in the Regional Schools' Diving Championships held at Hemel Hempstead.
Rival competitors came from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and the London area, but Jaunzens was unfazed by a strong field.
The Greneway School pupil performed five dives from the one-metre and three-metre boards and was awarded consistently high scores that reflected his accurate execution and clean entries into the water.
The series of superb dives, one of which included back one-and-a-half somersaults with one-and-a-half twists, means he will contest the national finals next month.
