Trip caps off good summer

Daniel Blanche, James Handleigh and Marmaduke Birt were victorious as Royston Rockets competed in the final event of the East Anglia BMX summer series held in Norwich.

In dry and sunny conditions, Blanche was first in the under-nine class, just ahead of Myles Fisher in second. Handleigh's triumph came in the under-13 class, one of several podium positions secured by Rockets' riders.

Birt was first in the under-eight class B final, edging team-mate Benjamin Mansfield into second, with Nate Ridgwell fourth. James King finished second in the A final.

Brendan Salmon was third in the B final of the boys' under-six age group and Andrew Brooker was third in the under-15 class.

Alfie Salmon and Louis Foreman were sixth and seventh respectively in the under-seven class, while Bradan Blance was fifth in the under-10 section and Matthew Harris seventh in the under-11 age group.

In the girls' 16 and over category, Katie Roberts finished a fine second with Ella Tomsett third in the under-seven event.
