The Stag from Huntingdon Rugby Club was crowned the 2009 winner of the annual madcap the John Smith's Mascot Grand National held at Huntingdon Racecourse.
A field of 67 runners lined up for the event which was celebrating its 10th anniversary, along with the Willow Foundation that receives all the money raised by the Mascot Grand National.
The mascots represent clubs and organisations from across the country, and take part in a one furlong dash along the course as part of an afternoon of racing.
Heath Crawford, a New Zealand-born winger for HRFC, was unveiled as the Stag at the end of the race. He beat race favourite Wacky Macky Bear, from Saffron Walden Town FC, who did not manage a top 15 finish in the attempt for a third consecutive victory.
