Eye Racers tackle 3 in 3

Three of Eye Community Runners members will tackle three marathons in as many days this weekend.

Gary Masters, Steve Booth and Will Missions will run the Snowdonia Marathon on Saturday, the Brentwood multi-mile marathon over 26 one-mile laps on Sunday and then the Dublin Marathon on Monday.

The trio originally hit on the idea as part of their training for the six-day 151-mile Marathon des Sables across the Sahara in Morocco and even though those plans have now fallen through they decided to still target the marathon treble.

Masters is the marathon master among the trio after run 11 marathons with a best time of 3.17, while Booth has run a best of 3.34 during his four and Missions will be more than doubling his marathon total this weekend having only run two in the past with 3.24 his best, set this year in Edinburgh.

John Ackroyd from Yaxley will also tackle the three marathons, while another Eye member Gordon Pearson will tackle the Brentford 10k and the Dublin Marathon, with Eye’s Mike Wright and Duncan Godber also running the Snowdonia Marathon.
