Roper clinches rally title

Lewis Roper executed another superb drive in the Cambrian Rally of the BTRDA Rally First Championship to clinch the title.

The Isleham 25 year old held a small lead in the 1.0 class going into the final round in North Wales, with rival Dafydd Williams needing victory to snatch the title from Roper.

Roper needed a replacement co-driver at the rally, Simon Rogers, but Roper rarely looked under threat from Williams and his triumph was all but confirmed when his rival was forced to withdraw on the final stage with engine failure.
