Mavin is a real Master at Championships

Stephen Mavin won five golds, three bronze medals and claimed two British records at the British Gas ASA Masters Swimming Championships.

The swimmer, from Chatteris, was first in the 100m individual medley, 50m and 100m butterfly and 50m and 100m freestyle, while winning bronze individually in the 50m backstroke and as a member of the 4x50m freestyle and 4x50m individual medley teams.

On the first day of the championships, Mavin won the 100m medley and was third in the 50m backstroke, he broke the British 50m fly and 100m metre butterfly records and took two team bronze medals on day two, and clinched gold in the 50m and 100m freestyle on the final day.

Mavin was part of the Chatteris Kingfishers’ team, along with brother Garry Mavin, Kevin Barter and Martin Fresher when winning the relay medals.
