St Ives’ Beasley triumphs for boxing title
Hayden Beasley has to fight twice in the draw but clinched the Mid-Anglia Senior Novice ABA under-75kg title in Norwich.
Beasley had to fight twice in the three fighter draw after missing out on a bye. He beat previously undefeated Fulbourn fighter Karl Harding 16-8 on points in the semi-final after building up a big lead in the first two rounds, then went on to perform well in the final to overcome DC Academy’s Ryan McDonald.
St Ives’ Bradley Chapman comes up against Lowestoft ABC’s Elton Smart at under-54kg at the Eastern Counties semi-finals in Aveley on Wednesday, while DC Academy boxer Jason Pateman will be in action against Alex Bennett from Bury St Edmunds’ Eastgate ABC at under-69kg.
