Milton School through to county round

Milton School will represent the Cambridge district in the county round of the Road to Wembley football tournament after a tense penalty shoot-out victory over rivals Histon & Impington.

The two finalists were closely matched throughout the final, with a goalless score the result following extra time. The shoot-out then went into sudden death, with Milton claiming victory.

There were 21 schools involved in the district tournament, hosted by Impington Village College, with the winners of the four groups making the semi finals. Milton progressed on penalties against Milton Road, while Histon & Impington secured a 1-0 win over Bottisham to reach the final.

Organiser of the event was James Cook, Competition Manager for Cambridge and South Cambs School Sport Partnerships.

Milton will compete in the county round, with the winners of that qualifying for the regional stages.
