Goodjohn shows defence is beat way to attack

Former Junior ABA champion Tyler Goodjohn maintained his winning start to the campaign with a confident victory at Haddenham ABC's first show of the season in front of a home crowd.

The Olympic hopeful came through on a unanimous decision against Norwich ABC's Frank Sictorness at the Arkenstall Village Centre. The 18 year old, who was selected to join the Lloyds TSB Local Heroes initiative earlier in the year aimed at helping potential stars of London 2012, fended off everything Sictorness could throw at him while catching him cleanly every time on the counter-attack.Tommy Wilson, Jack Halls and Zac Rush also added to their reputations by securing victories, while Jesse Smith and Jack Ure lost on split verdicts.

Meanwhile, on the same bill, St Ives puncher Tommy Maguire beat Fulbourn's Wesley Clark to clinch the Mid-Anglia Senior Novice ABA under-81kg title.
