St Neots Rowing Club juniors returned from a successful weekend at the Henley Sculls Head of the River Race on the Thames with top three finishes.
The St Neots win came in the women's junior coxless quads, with a crew of Bethany Astell, Polly Hetherington, Philippa Neill and Lottie Birks.
The starting order gave them some problems as they were started behind the boys' junior 15 coxed quads and found that they had to overtake several of the inexperienced crews. The girls had an emphatic victory in a fast time just over 12 minutes.
St Neots were also represented in the men's junior coxless quads with a second outing for the crew which had previously won at the St Neots Head of the River last month.
The crew was Huw Jarman at stroke, Thibault Jeangout, Michael Hawes and Josh Dexter. Despite limited time together they performed well, recording a second place time of 11min 49sec.
