The WOMbat Standup Paddle League is an exciting new set of tournaments to start on the rivers of Cambridge and Norwich in the summer of 2010.
The main tournament for all teams is planned for July, while a student tournament is aimed for June. The Paddle League will consist of 3 highly original events on the day, known only as Over, Through and Under (with more details to follow in the coming months)
Prizes will be rewarded for those who are successful in the finals, in addition to prizes for best attitude, most improved, best wipeout, best recovery and most money raised for charity.
The aim of the Standup Paddle League is to raise money for charity while having fun trying a new sport. The charity chosen for the League is the East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH), which cares for local children with life-threatening conditions and complex healthcare needs, and supports their families’ too.
Teams will consist of up to 6 people who can be from friends to company teams, universities and professionals. Teams entering before 25th January 2010 will be included in a prize draw for 1 x free entry and 2 x 25% entry discounts, and are guaranteed their free Standup Paddle League t-shirts.
