Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic sports have been handed an extra £13 million in the lead to the 2012 Games in London.
The extra money has been generated from the Team 2012 initiative and UK Sport adjusting the inflation level of previously-made funding, with £6.5 million from each area.
Boxing, Water Polo and Handball are a few of the 11 sports that have been awarded the funding boost, as they missed out on full 2012 funding. Table Tennis were the only sport out of the 12 that originally missed out not to receive the boost.
