Cambridgeshire under 13 team returned from a 10 day trip in South Africa with four wins out of six and raised over £2,000 for schools in the area.
The stunning Table Mountain near Cape Town provided a backdrop for the team’s tour of the area. The county side defeated Bishop’s School, Rondebosch School, Parklands College and Grove School during their visit.
Skipper Tom Picton-Turberville hitting an unbeaten century, George Coy scoring a boundary on the last ball and Patrick Marmion’s bowling were a few of the team’s many highlights.
The fundraising effort before the tour began will also be a major positive of the tour, where over £2,000 was raised and given to the schools, in addition to the sports equipment donated by the team.
The tour was organised by the team’s manager Kevin Scully with assistance from Tony and Marlise Pepper.
