42 year old Nato Ficarra is considering retirement after winning his third European Karate title in Milan.
Ficarra became a three-time Euorpean champion after defeating his younger opponents in similar fashion to his success in 2008. The Ely man won his other European title back in1992.
Ficarra defeated opponents from France and Spain in the quarter-final and final respectively, and his determination saw him through some of the gruelling contests. He was also inspired by daughters Daniella and Victoria.
Nato trained at the Paradise Centre in Ely for the karate event.
