Somersham motorcyclist Sam Morgan has been crowned national champion in the Auto Cycle Union Youth Grass Track Championships – and won £100 for his school.
St Ivo School’s Morgan took the crown after winning four of his five races and also put in a stern display to finish second in the 85cc class at the championships.
The 12 year old’s victory meant his school received a £100 cheque from the ACU, which he presented in a special assembly with KTM bike in tow.
Morgan only began grass track racing last year as he usually rides motocross, previously racing in Belgium and Jersey, and has also tried his hand at speedway.
