City of Ely pair set to take on the world

Greg Harlow and Nicky Brett will be joining forces at the Potters Holidays World Indoor Bowls Championships for the first time.

The respective world numbers 8 and 19 may have played alongside each other numerous times for club and country, but they have never team up in the men’s pairs.

They face a tougher opener with a first-round showdown with Australia’s Brett Wilkie and Mark Casey, with the pair both showing success last season.

Harlow will be looking to add the men’s singles title to his long list of honours, a feat he has not yet achieved, when his second round campaign begins on January 14. Brett, on the other hand, starts in the first round Tuesday 5th.

The latter hopes he can make the most of winning a World Bowls Tourcard, allowing entry to all WBT tournaments this term, to continue his push towards the top 16 and automatic qualification.
