Viet Pham returned with a bronze medal after helping England to an impressive third place at the International Federation of Muay Thai Amateur World Championships in Bangkok.
The competition featured nine days of intense fighting involving some of the most talented fighters from across the world, with 82 national squads present.
Pham, a member of the Singto Gym in Cambridge, was in excellent form and won two of his fights, losing the other, to help England finish behind Belarus and Turkey.
The 17 year old’s performance underlined his growing potential, and Pham aims to challenge for the English Senior Championship when he is 18 after already claiming the junior title.
