Talented fencer Freddy Bennett has been chosen to represent England in an under 15 international foil match in Paris.
The 14 year old has been called up for the event as part of England Fencing’s Tomorrow’s Achievers team and will be up against some of the best young fencers in the world on 6th and 7th February.
Bennett, a Sawston Village College pupil who trains a Cambridge Sword, started fencing when he was 11 and has already won medals in domestic competitions. He was second in the Newham Leon Paul Junior Series and seventh in the British Youth Championships.
Bennett’s ambition is to be part of the GB Cadet squad and ultimately to compete in the Olympic Games.
