Sport Relief Miles 2010 in Cambridgeshire

It’s that time of year again when Sport Relief Miles are going to be run across the country.

Cambridgeshire is the host of five Sport Relief Mile events in Cambridge, Ely, Great Chishill, Huntingdon, and Peterborough. Each event is offering three choices of distances; one, three or six mile runs, on Sunday 21st March.

The Cambridge Mile is being held at Milton Country Park with runs from 10.15am to 1.45pm, The Ely Mile begins at Ely Cathedral and is open between 1pm and 4pm, The Great Chishill Mile is being run on the village’s playing field from 11.30am to 2pm, The Huntingdon Mile is hosted at Hinchingbrooke Country Park with starts at 11am and 12.30pm, and The Peterborough Mile in Nene Park starts at 11am.

There are also two races just outside the county, The Polebrook Mile near Peterborough and The Sandy Mile near Bedford. The entry fee for each event is £5 for Adults (16+), £2 for Children and £12 for Families, which only covers the cost to stage the race.

The money raised through Sport Relief is used to help vulnerable people facing incredibly tough lives both at home in the UK and in the world’s poorest countries, as part of the BBC’s Children Relief campaign.

So…get your running gear on, take part and collect sponsorship or sponsor someone you know that is running in one of the miles.
