Nene Valley Harrier Robert Mohan has been called up to make his international debut for England.
The shot putter has begun the year in excellent form and has been selected to represent England Under 20s in the 21st Celtic Cup in Cardiff on Sunday.
Thurlby-based Mohan, also a keen rugby player, has concentrated on his shot put in the past year which has seen him win silver at the 2009 English Schools Championships, become the Northern Under 20 shot champion and hold the under 20 record at 16.94m.
On another note, March heptathlete Louise Hazel was delighted after returning from the Aviva World Trials and UK Indoor Championships in Sheffield with two silver medals.
The GB international was finish third in the final of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.27, while she leapt 6.14m in the long jump to again finish third. As a guest was ahead of her in both events, she collected silver medals, adding to indoor personal bests in both events aswell.
