Nene Valley Harriers’ Robert Mohan led the local athletes at the National Junior Indoor Championships in Birmingham by claiming gold in the Under 20 shot.
Mohan, who made a winning International debut for England in February, has had an amazing indoor season after already winning the North of England Championships and representing England. Mohan threw 17.56m to set a club record and moved him into sixth on the UK all-time Under 20 rankings.
Clubmate Lukasz Bezulski took bronze in the Under 17 men’s 400m and Peterborough Athletic Club’s Simi Pam finished third in the Under 17 women’s shot.
Local athletes Sam Lawrence, Georgie Ivens, Emma Hornsby, Darellon Holding, Joel Grenfell, Ashley Watson, Max Everest, Jake Berney and Georgia Woods all performed well at the Championships.
