A specially adapted bike has been purchased by Cambridgeshire County Council and the Aiming Higher fund for young people to provide cycling for disabled users.
The bike will be based at Grafham Cycles Centre www.grafhamcycling.co.uk and is available for hire by anyone who wants to ride a tandem, but especially for young people with additional needs. The cycle can enable them to go out on a bike and complete a journey.
Grafham Cycles have a pre-booking process to allow them to set up the bike to an individual’s requirements. This information can be provided on a special booking form or over the phone, and Grafham Cycles are happy for anyone hoping to use the special bike to visit the centre and identify their needs.
The bike is now available for use, with an official launch to be held in the autumn.
