Several Huntingdonshire AC athletes opened their summer athletics campaign at the Peterborough AC Open meet, gaining four victories in the process.
On the track, Lily Seach held on for the win in the Under 17 Women’s 300m, while Emma Butcher had an easy victory in the Under 20 Women’s 800m.
Out in the field, Martin Safford won the Veteran Men’s javelin by 10 metres with Anya Rodriguez picking up first place in the Under 15 Girls long jump.
Hakeem Duckworth-Porter also showed the benefits of the long winter’s training by running personal bests in the Under 17 Men’s 100m and 200m and Meredith Ash ran her fastest-ever 100m with electronic timing.
Biggest improver of the day was Polly Smith in the Under 13 Girls 1,500m who reduced her best time by 15 seconds.
