Cambridge Triathlon Club will be hosting the 2010 Any Old Iron Man event in May with all proceeds going to the Cambridge Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).
The Any Old Iron Man event enables anyone to try to achieve the distance of a triathlon spread over the month of May, with a choice of short, middle and long distance triathlons, with a suggested charity contribution is £10 to enter the event although for those still at school this can be £5.
A TCT unit will be built at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge in 2010, bringing young cancer sufferers together in an environment which will help to make the experience a little more bearable.
In 2009, the event raised money for the Parkinson’s disease charity with several thousands being donated to them. The event was promoted by club triathlete and disease sufferer Dave Eastman, who was shortlisted for the Disabled Sports Performer award at the LIVING SPORT Sports Awards 2009.
To get involved in this incredible event, visit the TCT website and contact Helen Hatcher.
