Watterson triumphs in Cambourne 10k

Stephen Watterson was the first person home in the Cambridge Cambourne 10k race last Sunday (11th April).

The Cambridge & Coleridge athlete led home the field in a time of 32.28 in only the second year of the event. John Herbert of Werrington Joggers finished the race in a time of 33.15 to place second and first in the 40+ category, while teammate Michael Moore followed in third.

Ipswich Jaffa RC’s Helen Decker was the first female home in a time 35.07.

In addition to the near 1,000 runners in the timed race, many runners from the age of nine and up competed in the one mile fun run where entry fees were donated to children’s charity Anna’s Hope, the Wildlife Trust and the Cambridge & Coleridge Athletics Trust.
