Olympic hopeful Goodjohn ready to go Pro

Haddenham ABC’s Tyler Goodjohn is set to turn professional following his exit from the Senior ABA Championships.

The hitter lost on points to A Grigg from Southampton's Golden Ring ABC in their welterweight quarter-final at Great Yarmouth, and will have one more bout as an amateur next month before turning professional.

Goodjohn, who had been tipped as a prospect for the London Olympics in 2012, will continue to be indirectly involved in the Championships after passing on advice to former clubmate Shane Sadler, who will be representing the Army in the light-middleweight quarter final.

Sadler, based in Stretham, is fighting West Ham ABC’s Tom Baker, who defeated Goodjohn in the Junior ABA’s last year.
