Cobb’s comeback to British boxing

Ivan Cobb has returned to the English boxing coaching staff just after 5 months after coming out of an early retirement.

Cobb quit boxing in 1995 having been a national team trainer working with the likes of World Champions Ricky Hatton and Herbie Hide during their amateur careers.

He admitted he has the bug again after taking a long break from the game. However it didn’t’ t take long for the call to come back into the England fold after being tempted back into the sport by DC Academy in December.

Cobb was delighted to be handed a role by the head coach Mickey Gannon. His first job will to be to take the England juniors to the Great Brittan Schoolboys Championships which will be held in Scotland on the 14th till the 15th of May 2010.

Cobb has confirmed that his new role will not take away from his duties with the Cambridge club.
