The Papworth Trust are offering grants of between £250 and £500 for athletes aged 12 or over with a disability.
The Trust already sponsors England wheelchair basketball player Lee Manning, who said ‘With the Trust's help, I hope I will be flying the flag for Great Britain at the 2012 Paralympics. These awards should mean that more disabled athletes from this area will be competing with me in London.’
The scheme will support any athlete living in the areas where Papworth Trust operates: Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Suffolk and the Waltham Forest area of London.
All applications will be assessed by a panel. Full details about the award are available on this application form or from paralympics@papworth.org.uk.
