Huff up to second in World Touring Champs

Rob Huff has moved into second place in the World Touring Car Championships after two podium finishes at Monza last weekend (22nd -23rd May).

Things could have been even better for the Cambridge driver who led on the final lap in race one after leader Gabriele Tarquini (SEAT) had punctured in the dying stages, only for Huff to suffer the same fate when his front left tyre went at the final corner.

BMW duo Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus capitalised to collect first and second as Huff coasted across the finish line in third.

In race two, Huff started in seventh but quickly moved up to six, then edged into fifth, and then moved into fourth when Tarquini was given a drive-through penalty. Huff's teammate Yvan Muller to came through for victory from SEAT's Tom Coronel in second and Huff in third.

Muller now leads the Driver's Championship on 100 points from Huff and Tarquini who share second on 76 and have Farfus in a close fourth on 74. Chevrolet's lead in the constructor's title race is now 16 points from SEAT, with the championship moving to Zolder in Belgium for rounds seven and eight on June 20.
