LIVING SPORT is inviting businesses in Peterborough and Fenland to enter teams into the KMX Kart Active Workplaces Business Grand Prix as part of the Peterborough Tour Series Cycle Race on Tuesday 15th June.
To celebrate the launch of Active Workplaces, LIVING SPORT has teamed up with Greater Peterborough Partnership and Travelchoice, to offer 15 businesses the chance to enter teams of three to race the KMX Karts (recumbent tricycles) around the 1.1km Tour Series Cycle Track.
Iain Crighton, President of the Chambers of Commerce and Chair of LIVING SPORT explained, 'We spend 60% of our time at work so Active Workplaces is offering businesses a 12 week sport and physical activity programme, free of charge, to help their employees to become fitter, happier and healthier. We know that people who are active feel much better which helps them and their employer.'
Lynette Cook, Wellbeing Coordinator from Churchill Insurance, said, 'Our Active Workplace instructor was really good and helped us set up a running group at lunchtime. It is great to encourage staff to do more exercise as keeping our workforce fit and healthy is a priority for us and Active Workplaces has inspired us to do more.'
Businesses are also invited to come and try activities like outdoor circuits, aerobics, football skills and badminton on the Cathedral Green from 3pm to 5pm.
