Sport England is launching a new initiative - A Day for Sport, which will take place on Thursday 15th July 2010, aiming to get more Sport England employees directly helping people play and enjoy sport.
The day will see a number of people exchange the office for the ‘frontline’, volunteering at various locations across the country to support a range of sporting activities, from assisting coaches in delivering sport to maintaining facilities e.g. helping paint the clubhouse, mowing the pitch, or sweeping the courts.
Organisations applying for this assistance must have in place effective health and safety policies and procedures and have adequate public liability insurance. Sport England will contact you directly in the week commencing 5th July to let you know if anyone will be able to attend.
So, can you think of any tasks around your club that you've been meaning to get around to? Or any activities on 15th July that you would like support from Sport England volunteers for?
If so, please download a registration form and return it by Friday 25th June to internalcomms@sportengland.org.
